Short Adventure Games That Respect Your Time
Not every good adventure needs to be enormous. Some of the most memorable mobile games I've played wrapped up in a couple of evenings and left me completely satisfied.
Hollow Harbor is my current example. It's a quiet point-and-explore game you finish in two sittings, and it does more with mood in two hours than some games do in forty.
The trick with short adventures is focus. They can't waste your time, so every scene earns its place. When it works, you get a story with no filler, which on a phone is a blessing.
If you're the kind of player who starts big games and never finishes them, this genre might be for you. Try something short and complete for a change.
A tip: play these with headphones. Sound design does a huge amount of the storytelling in good adventure games.
